Well, the first question is much easier to answer than the second... I think. I mean unless we are talking philosophy. Then it get's tricky, but hey! Let's try!
My name is Amber. First of all I am a human. Although, I think at times I would rather be a Klingon or a hobbit. Cat could be chill too. Although, I often feel like a Borg. Minus the hearing everyone else's thoughts. That would be cool.
Ah-hem.
Moving on.
I am a vegan, and I am proud of that. I write about what it's like to be a vegan in my shoes, and you will probably see me talk about vegan things, like food. I love food. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not militant and I do not preach. Well, at least not to other people about being vegan... unless you're my husband. Sorry Dan.
I am a history major, Medieval European History to be exact, with minor emphasis' on the Near East and Modern Europe. Although my rambling tends to not reach this side of my brain very often, I may indulge myself... from time to time. I originally planned to major in Modern European History, because of World War II (as you will learn why in the next paragraph) but became enthralled with the Black Death, the Catholic Church (specifically the Great Schism), and the War of the Roses. Oh and the Hundred Years' War and well.... I'll leave it there.
I have German ancestors. I am second and third generation, and colonial American-German. You will probably get some serious blabbing about my love for Berlin, German culture, (real) football, and my family. My grandmother grew up in Nazi Berlin as a kid/teenager, so if you haven't read this story already I know I will get around to telling it.

I also love board games, card games, and DM'ing. <3 Let's just say my favorite time of day is 13.37 :]
I love beer. I try to get my husband to brew often and if we go out it's most likely to get a good brew, or vegan food. One of the advantages of moving to Los Angeles is that we are exploring new pubs and restaurants and get to watch as LA beings catching on to good beers, but we have yet to discover awesome places that are not a car ride away. I have to admit though, I really, really miss Beer Revolution in Oakland. I mean there's a Soul Food vegan restaurant next door. Um... yes please! So ya, like I said food and beer.
J. Harry Taylor in front of his shop. I did not take this, as I was not even close to alive yet. |
I make jam. When time allows and when I have a good stove, I work on my jam business. It's not quite off the ground yet, but I am serious about getting this going. Fruit is noms. Why not make it even nomzier(..?!) and because it's me I get all my fruit (when possible!!) from the Farmer's Market or my CSA (community supported agriculture) box. All organic, obviously vegan. Blah blah blah. Just read the blog: Jammin' To My Own Beat
I am secretly a crazy cat lady... wait! Crap, so much for that secret. I have two beautiful cats. Batman (Bats or Bat Attack) and Isis (Leetle, or Moosh). They are my babies and I want MORE CATS! So.. don't follow me on twitter unless you love seeing cat pictures.
So much me, me, me!! Enough of that. Thanks for reading and I hope I entertain with my adventures.
Qapla'
Amber
